Terms of Service

Effective date: 3 October 2026

These terms govern your use of the Khushu application, published by Khushu App ("we"). By installing or using the App, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the App.

01. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 to use Khushu. If the law of your country sets a higher age for consenting to the processing of your data, that age applies instead.

02. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the App. You undertake not to:

• Copy, modify, distribute, resell or decompile the App
• Circumvent the app blocking, the unlock mechanism or the subscription check
• Disrupt the service, probe it for weaknesses or automate access to it
• Use it for unlawful purposes, or to harm anyone

03. What the App does

• Prayer times — Calculated on your device from its position, using the method you choose, with no connection required
• Blocking — The apps you designate are blocked during prayer times, through Apple's Screen Time, and unblock either by confirming your prayer or by reading verses, depending on the mode you picked
• Quran — The full text in Arabic, its translations, audio recitation and memorisation tracking
• Tracking — A journal of your prayers, streaks of consecutive days, ranks, statistics and a garden that grows with your practice
• Circles — A private circle where a few people close to you follow their practice together, or a public circle that brings together believers of the same gender who do not know each other, with Quran reading challenges
• Nudges between members — The option for a member of your circle to remind you of a prayer, and for you to do the same
• Chat — Messages exchanged in your circles, with a subscription
• Fajr wake-up — An alarm on your device, which stops when you scan your sink or answer questions
• Notifications and widget — Notifications at prayer times and a verse shown on your home screen

04. Your account

The account is optional: the App works without one. It can only be created through Sign in with Apple, and serves to back up your progress, to join circles and to write in them.

You are responsible for access to your Apple ID. You can delete your account at any time from the App's Settings, all the way down, under "Account management". Deletion is immediate and permanent.

05. Circles and what you show in them

A private circle is joined with a code you choose to pass on. A public circle appears in a list open to everyone and welcomes a single gender only. By creating or joining a circle, you accept that its members see what section 05 of our privacy policy describes: in particular your first name or nickname, your avatar, your streak, the status of your prayers for the day, your garden and your progress on its challenges.

Your first name, your nickname, a circle's name and your messages are the free text of the App. You undertake not to write anything hateful, obscene, threatening or defamatory there, nor content impersonating another person, nor personal data belonging to a third party.

You can leave a circle at any time, which ends the sharing immediately. A circle's creator can remove a member from it, and delete the circle. If a member behaves abusively, report it from the App or write to us at the address at the bottom of this page: we can remove content and suspend or delete an account, without notice, in case of breach of this section or the next.

06. Nudges between members

A member of your circle can remind you of any of the five prayers as long as you have not logged it: up to three times for Fajr and twice for the others, with at least five minutes between two nudges. This gesture exists to help one another, not to insist. You can mute nudges from a person or from a whole circle, and they stop as soon as you leave the circle.

07. Chat

Writing in a circle requires an active subscription and accepting its rules, shown in the App. You undertake to follow them:

• Respect for everyone, with no insults, mockery, harassment or threats
• No sexual, hateful or shocking content
• No scams
• No links, phone numbers, addresses or accounts, and no invitation to continue the conversation elsewhere

Each message is reviewed automatically before it is published, and may be refused. Our moderation team can review reported messages. Anyone can report a message, anonymously, or block a person. Sending is limited to fifty messages a day.

In case of breach, we can remove a message, suspend your access to the chat for seven days or permanently, or remove you from all your circles and prevent you from joining or creating others.

08. Subscription and payments

Paid features are offered by subscription, sold and billed by Apple's App Store. The price, the duration and the renewal terms are shown in the App before any purchase.

The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Managing, cancelling and requesting refunds all happen in your Apple account settings, under Apple's terms, over which we have no control.

09. What we do not guarantee

The App is provided as is. We take every care with its accuracy, without being able to guarantee:

• The exactness of prayer times, which depend on your position, the calculation method chosen and local conventions. Always check with your mosque or a trusted source.
• The delivery of every notification to the second, as iOS may delay or withhold them
• Blocking under all circumstances, since it relies on Apple's Screen Time
• Continuous, uninterrupted operation of the service

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we cannot be held liable for indirect damages arising from use of the App, in particular an inaccurate prayer time, a notification not received, blocking that did not work or a loss of local data. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, nor the rights your country's law grants you as a consumer.

11. Intellectual property

The name, design, illustrations and code of the App belong to us. The text of the Quran is in the public domain. The Quranic fonts and the audio recitations come from third parties and remain subject to their own licences. You keep your rights over what you enter, and grant us the right to display it to the members of your circles and to have it reviewed by our moderation, for that purpose only.

12. Ending the relationship

You may stop using the App whenever you wish, uninstall it, and delete your account from the Settings. On our side, we may suspend or delete an account in case of a serious breach of these terms, in particular sections 05 and 07. We will tell you, unless the law forbids us to.

13. Changes

These terms may change. The version in force is always the one published here, with its effective date. Continuing to use the App after a change means accepting it.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of the mandatory provisions of the country where you reside, and the ability to bring proceedings before its courts.
